Command Reference Guide
snmp-server community
Use the snmp-server community command to specify a community string to control access to the Simple
Network Management Protocol (SNMP) information. Use the no form of this command to remove a
specified community. Variations of this command include:
snmp-server community <community>
snmp-server community <community> [ip access-class <ipv4 acl> | ipv6 access-class <ipv6 acl>]
snmp-server community <community> ro
snmp-server community <community> ro [ip access-class <ipv4 acl> | ipv6 access-class <ipv6 acl>]
snmp-server community <community> rw
snmp-server community <community> rw [ip access-class <ipv4 acl> | ipv6 access-class <ipv6 acl>]
snmp-server community <community> view <name>
snmp-server community <community> view <name> [ip access-class <ipv4 acl> | ipv6 access-class

Default Values
By default, there are no configured SNMP communities.

Specifies the community string (a password to grant SNMP access).
Optional. Specifies an Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) access control
list (ACL) name used to limit access. Refer to

Optional. Specifies an Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) ACL name
used to limit access. Refer to

Optional. Grants read-only access, allowing retrieval of MIB objects.
Optional. Grants read-write access, allowing retrieval and modification
of MIB objects.
Optional. Specifies a previously defined view. Views defined objects
