encapsulation 802.1q
Use the encapsulation 802.1q command to put the interface into 802.1q virtual local area network
(VLAN) mode.

No subcommands.

Usage Examples
The following example puts Ethernet interface 0/1 in 802.1q mode and configures a subinterface for VLAN
usage:
(config)#interface ethernet 0/1
(config-eth 0/1)#encapsulation 802.1q
(config-eth 0/1)#interface ethernet 0/1.1
(config-eth 0/1.1)#vlan-id 3
