Further steps:
• The technical departments (Service and Development) can use this file to perform trouble-
shooting. If the cause of the error cannot be found in the protocol, your specialised dealer
or the Service Department will set additional categories and record an extended protocol.

Configuring the Syslog Server

A protocol can be recorded to log and display control and management information about the
connections to the PBX e.g. to display errors. You will thus be able to see the error type, and
maybe even its cause, from the list of transferred information.
Proceed as follows:
• Using the configuration manager
Requirements:
• Syslog server configured by the system administrator
• Knowledge of the IPv4 or IPv6 address and UDP port number of the syslog server
1. Open the page Administration > Logging.
2. In the Syslog server IP entry field, enter the IPv4 or IPv6 address of the syslog-
server.
3. In the Syslog server port entry field, enter the UDP port number of the syslog server.
Logging of the connection data will start as soon as you have saved your settings.

Downloading Service Data

If the PBX exhibits a malfunction which is not caused by incorrect operation or external influ-
ences, the service data can be used to diagnose the malfunction.
