Configuring the Use of the ISDN Ports
Proceed as follows:
• Using the configuration manager
1. Open the page Hardware > Port configuration.
2. Under Use, select one of the following options for the COMpact 2BRI mainboard or
module:
free: Port is not used.
internal: Port is used as internal port.
external: Port is used as external port.
Note:
If the settings for the module are marked in red, the module is selected but
not inserted, or its jumpers are not configured as set in the configuration
manager.
The numbers under Port correspond to the numbers used on the board.
Further steps:
• Configure the connection type for the external ISDN connections.

Configuring the Connection Type for the ISDN Connection

The connection type that the network provider has provided for the NT needs to be configured
for the external S
port.

The external S
port can be operated in the following connection types:

• PTMP connection: ISDN PTMP connection (Point-to-Multipoint) with up to ten multiple
subscriber numbers (MSNs).
• PTP connection: ISDN PTP connection (Point-to-Point) with a PBX base number and
Direct Dial In numbers (DDI numbers).
