3. In the Preferred exchange line business and Preferred exchange line private or
Preferred exchange line list fields, select one of the following options:
No preferred exchange line: For outgoing external calls, any available fixed
network connection is used.
Special preferred exchange lines: For outgoing external calls, the connec-
tions released under Expert are used depending on the selected priority. This
makes the definition of a preferred exchange line (priority = 1) with overflow to
other connections (priority > 1) possible. Exchange lines with priority No
preferred exchange line are not used for outgoing calls.
Note:
If all released connections are busy, it is no longer possible to call. The
subscriber can only use a connection with the setting No preferred
exchange line by entering a character string (see chapter Short Reference
> Targeted Exchange Line Access).
The same priority may be allocated to different external connections in
parallel.

Switching Preferred Exchange Line for Group On/Off

If a preferred exchange line has been enabled for a group, outgoing calls of a subscriber logged
in to this group as outgoing will be routed via the preferred exchange line.
Proceed as follows:
• Separately for groups
• Separately for configurations
• Using the configuration manager
Note: As described in the following, the setting is also possible via profiles (...
> Profiles > Configuration > Configure > ...). If the check box Profile-
controlled settings has been selected, the property set in the right-hand
column will apply. For assignment of the profile, see chapter Settings >
Profiles.
