Using Different Telephone Types
Depending on the used telephone type, there are differences in the operation and programming
of the PBX. The following telephones can be operated at the PBX:
Analogue Telephones (PD and DTMF)
If you are already in a call state with another subscriber (internal or external), you have to press
the Flash key (signal key, R key) first on a DTMF phone before dialling a digit, e.g. for a call
transfer.
PD phones do not have a Flash key. Moreover, there will be no asterisk (*) or pound key (#) or
there will be no function assigned to these keys. Since these keys are required for the major
part of all call types (e. g. internal calls at a direct exchange access point) as well as to make
settings (programming), it is not possible to perform these functions with PD phones. They can
only initiate and accept simple calls. If your telephone offers both dialling modes, you should
therefore set it to DTMF.
Analogue T-Net Telephones
On some analogue DTMF telephones, specific T-Net functions can be performed in the
analogue T-Net via the menu or via specific function keys. If you are operating such a telephone
as an internal subscriber, you can also use these comfortable operating modes for some
functions of the PBX. Please note that the T-Net functions of the telephone are limited because
the PBX doesn't support some functions. If you want to use the T-Net functions of your
telephone, read the manual for the telephone. When entering phone numbers, take care to
enter the leading exchange line access number. Instead of an "announcement of the central
office", you will hear the confirmation tone for successful programming.
ISDN Telephones
To be able to operate your ISDN telephone, you have to make yourself acquainted with its
functions. To do this, read the manual for the telephone (see www.auerswald.de). It is vital to
know which key (e.g. hold or R key) or menu you have to use to initiate a query call. To use
some functions, you have to rely completely on the menus/keys of the telephone (see notes).
The digits to be dialled for analogue telephones are not required here.
System Telephones
As described in this manual, you can use the major part of the PBX functions with all connected
telephones. With the system telephones, the operation is more comfortable, since the most
important functions can be controlled via a menu/function key (optional). In this case, the
operation is described in the manual. Some of the PBX functions described can only be used
on the system telephones specified in the description.
