Creating a Contact Group

Note: Subscribers with Telephone book authorisation and read access to the
Telephone book version 1 contact group can dial exchange line numbers,
even if they have no other exchange line authorisation.
In addition, administrators and sub-administrators can create their own contact groups and
assign types to them. These types set the possible size of the contact group and specify the
telephones to which the contacts in this contact group are to be transmitted . You can assign
the following types to the contact groups:
• Standard contact group: contact groups for the COMfortel 1400 IP/2600 IP/3200/3500/
3600 IP and COMfortel 1200/1400/1600/2600 system telephones with a maximum of 2000
contacts. Contacts that are assigned to contact groups of this type are displayed on the
connected COMfortel 1400 IP/2600 IP/3200/3500/3600 IP and COMfortel 1200/1400/1600/
2600 system telephones.
• DECT 900 contact group: contact groups for COMfortel DECT 900 handsets with a
maximum of 140 entries. Contacts that are assigned to contact groups this type are
displayed on the connected COMfortel DECT 900 handsets. They must also be contained
in the Telephone book version 1 contact group.
• DECT 900C contact group: contact groups for COMfortel DECT 900C handsets with a
maximum of 250 entries. Contacts that are assigned to contact groups of this type are
displayed on the connected COMfortel DECT 900C handsets. They must also be contained
in the Telephone book version 1 contact group.
Note:
The contacts contained in the contact groups of the type DECT 900 contact
group and DECT 900C contact group must also be contained in the
Telephone book version 1 contact group.
Only one type can be selected per contact group. It is not possible to change
the contact group type afterwards.
If you have not selected a type, the Standard contact group type is automat-
ically assigned to the new contact group.
Creating a Contact Group
To get a better overview of the contacts displayed in All contacts view you can create up to 20
contact groups, each of which represents a sub group of the All contacts view.
