Configuring the Use of Your Own DNS Server

If the DHCP client function has been enabled, the PBX receives the address of the DNS server
automatically from an DHCP server
To use your own DNS server even if the DHCP client function is enabled, you need to enable
the Use own DNS server check box.
If the DHCP client function has been disabled, you must enter the address of the DNS server
manually (see chapter Settings > Internet Access > Configuring the DNS Server).
Proceed as follows:
• Using the configuration manager
Requirements:
• DHCP enabled
1. Open the page Administration > IP configuration.
2. Select or clear the Use own DNS server check box under DNS CONFIGURATION.
3. In the First DNS server and Second DNS server entry fields under DNS CONFIG-
URATION, enter the IP address for each of the DNS servers. Possible entries:
Four blocks with three digits for IPv4 addresses
Eight blocks with four digits or characters for IPv6 addresses
Note: If you cannot enter a DNS server, the gateway is automatically used
instead.

downloaded.
