Creating a Door Terminal

The PBX supports the connection and control of various types of door terminals. In addition to
a door bell, ringing at the door can in this way also be indicated by internal or external
telephones or groups. Each door bell button can be assigned an individual target number. You
can also carry out various door functions such as speech connection with the door and
actuation of the door opener from internal telephones.
Creating a Door Terminal
An existing door terminal can be connected to the PBX so that various door functions such as
speech connection with the door and actuation of the door opener from internal telephones can
be carried out. This door terminal must be created in the configuration of the PBX and allocated
an internal number where it can be called.
The door terminal and the relays and switch inputs (door bell buttons) available for it can be
created with the device wizard. Door calls can be created for the switch inputs of the door
terminal by selecting call destinations. To detect their actuation e. g. because a door bell button
has been pressed, the PBX needs to know which DTMF sequence or which SIP invite the door
terminal sends when a button is pressed (see manual and settings of the device in question).
Note: The DTMF sequence or the SIP invite usually is the phone number
assigned to the door bell button within the door terminal.
After the door terminal has been configured in the PBX, the complete door
call distribution will be controlled by the PBX – with regard to the call destina-
tions as well as with regard to the maximum call duration.
The door call distribution can be set to depend on the configuration – differ-
ently for night and day, for example.
Only for VoIP door terminals: To create a connection with a VoIP door terminal, the PBX needs
to know the SIP password of the connected device. To control the relays and switch inputs, the
PBX also needs to know IP address and port of the connected device as well as authentication
data (user name and password) to control the relays (see manual and settings of the device in
question).
Various door terminals supported by the PBX are available as device templates. They already
include several default values for operation of the door terminals in their factory settings.
If no of the device templates on offer matches your installation, you can select a user-defined
device template.
