Initiating a Manual Firmware Update

Regular Firmware Updates for the Connected COMfortel System Telephones via the
Update Server
If the regular firmware update option is enabled, you can specify the frequency and time period
in which the system is to look for new firmware. The firmware update is then triggered automat-
ically once a connection to the update server has been set up and new firmware has been
found.
Initiating a Manual Firmware Update
Proceed as follows:
• Using the configuration manager
Requirements:
• A firmware file (*.rom) saved on a data storage device (PC)
Note: You can find a new firmware file on the Internet (see
www.auerswald.de/service). Alternatively, you can get a new firmware file
from your specialised dealer.
1. Open the page Administration > Firmware update/restart.
2. Click Start firmware update under STORE THE FIRMWARE IN THE PBX(MANUAL
FIRMWARE UPDATE).
3. Click Browse (this text is dependent on the operating system used).
4. Select the firmware file (*.rom) you want and click Open (this text is dependent on the
operating system used).
The path and the file name are displayed in the Firmware Update field.
5. Click Import.
The firmware update is started. As soon as the firmware file has been saved in the
PBX, you will receive a message.
6. Click Initiate reboot, to restart the PBX and enable the firmware.
The PBX is restarted.
