Configuring OSPF

Usage
Each Enterasys Matrix Series module or standalone device can support up to 6 OSPF areas and up
to 256 OSPF interfaces running per Enterasys Matrix chassis.
The "no" form of this command stops the routes from being summarized.
Example
This example shows how to define the address range as 172.16.0.0/16 for summarized routes
communicated at the boundary of area 0.0.0.0:
Matrix>Router(config)#router ospf 1
Matrix>Router(config-router)#area 0.0.0.0 range 172.16.0.0 255.255.0.0
area authentication
Use this command to enable or disable authentication for an OSPF area.
Syntax
area area-id authentication {simple | message-digest}
no area area-id authentication {simple | message-digest}

21-32 Routing Protocol Configuration
Specifies the area at the boundary of which routes are to be
summarized.
Specifies the common prefix of the summarized networks.
Specifies the length of the common prefix.
Specifies the OSPF area in which to enable authentication. Valid values
are decimal values or IP addresses.
Enables simple text authentication. Simple password authentication
allows a password (key) to be configured per area. Routers in the same
area that want to participate in the routing domain will have to be
configured with the same key.
Enables MD5 authentication on the OSPF area indicated by the area‐id.
