Command Reference Guide
hardware-address
Use the hardware-address command to specify the name of a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol
version 4 (DHCPv4) client. Use the no form of this command to remove the configured client name.
Variations of this command include:
hardware-address <mac address>
hardware-address <mac address> <type>
hardware-address <mac address> ethernet
hardware-address <mac address> ieee802
Syntax Description
<mac address>

Specifies a valid 48-bit medium access control (MAC) address. MAC
addresses should be expressed in the following format xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx (for
example, 00:A0:C8:00:00:01).
Optional. Specifies one of the hardware types listed in RFC 1700. Valid
range is 1 to 21.
The valid hardware types are as follows:
