IP Addressing and Protocol Commands
ip domain-lookup
This command enables the DNS client on your device. This allows you to use domain names
instead of IP addresses in commands. The DNS client resolves the domain name into an IP
address by sending a DNS enquiry to a DNS server, specified with the
command.
The client is enabled by default. However, it does not attempt DNS enquiries unless there is a
DNS server configured.
The no parameter disables the DNS client. The client will not attempt to resolve domain
names. You must use IP addresses to specify hosts in commands.
