Step 4. Ensure RIPng Advertisements get exchanged

Check the interface is not configured as a passive
interface using show running-config command.
passive interface <interface-name>
displays in the config if it is configured to be passive.
Enter the Configure mode.
Enter RIPng Router mode using router ipv6
rip.
Remove the passive interface using the no passive
interface <interface-name> command.
Enter the Configure mode.
Check on the interface to make sure that RIPng
advertisements are being sent and received.
Check on the interface to make sure that RIPng
advertisements are being sent and received.
Exit Configure mode to enter Privileged
Exec mode.
View log messages, or use a packet sniffer such as
Ethereal or Wireshark, to verify RIPng advertisements.
