Getting Started

Introduction

This chapter introduces a number of commonly-used management features of the AlliedWare
Plus

How to log-in

Step 1:
The default baud rate is 9600.
By default the AlliedWare Plus
port. This means that the terminal size is 80 columns by 24 rows.
Step 2:
The defaults are:
username: manager
password: friend
The switch logs you into User Exec mode. From User Exec mode, you can perform high-level
diagnostics (some show commands, ping, traceroute etc), start sessions (Telnet, SSH), and
change mode.

How to get command help

The following kinds of command help are available:
Command
The AlliedWare Plus CLI contains a number of abbreviations for its commands. For example,

the show interface command can be entered in the abbreviated form shown below:
