Water chamber: Removal - Refitting

Note:
The water chamber bolts are not all the same
length, note their positions.
a Remove:
- the water chamber bolts (2) ,
- the water chamber,
- the plenum chamber seal.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a Always replace the water chamber seal.
a Use SURFACE CLEANER (see Vehicle: Parts
and consumables for the repair) (MR 415, 04B,
Consumables - Products) to clean and degrease:
- the cylinder head gasket face,
- the water chamber joint face if it is being reused.
WARNING
The joint faces must be clean, dry and free from
grease (avoid finger marks).
COOLING
If replacing the water chamber

a Remove:
- the bleed screw (3) ,
- the metal tube (4) ,
- the thermostat unit bolts (5) ,
- the thermostat unit,
- the thermostat,
- the thermostat seal.
a Using SURFACE CLEANER (see Vehicle: Parts
and consumables for the repair) (MR 415, 04B,
Consumables - Products), clean and degrease the
thermostat unit joint face.
a Refit:
- the metal tube,
- the bleed screw.
a Tighten the bleed screw.
a Refit:
- the thermostat fitted with a new seal,
- the thermostat unit,
- the thermostat unit bolts.
a Tighten the thermostat unit bolts.
