Cooling system: Draining - Refilling
F4R or K4M or K9K or M4R or M9R or V4Y
a Fill the cooling system with engine coolant recom-
mended by the manufacturer (see 19A, Cooling,
Engine cooling system: Specifications, page
19A-13) and (see Vehicle: Parts and consum-
ables for the repair) (04B, Consumables - Prod-
ucts) via the expansion bottle until it overflows.
a Close all the bleed screws as soon as the coolant
starts to flow in a continuous stream.
K4M
a Fit the heater matrix outlet cooling hose.
a Clip on the heater matrix outlet cooling hose.
M9R
a Clip on the engine wiring.
F4R or K9K or M9R
a Refit:
- the air filter unit (see 12A, Fuel mixture, Air filter
unit: Removal - Refitting, page 12A-13) ,
- the air outlet pipe of the air filter unit.
a Tighten to torque the air filter unit air outlet pipe
clip on the turbocharger side (5.5 N.m).
K9K or M9R
a Clip the turbocharging pressure regulation hose of
the turbocharger onto the air filter unit air outlet pipe.
F4R or K9K
a Clip the oil vapour rebreathing hose union onto the
air filter unit air outlet pipe.
COOLING
F4R or M9R
a Clip the brake servo vacuum pipe onto the air filter
unit air outlet pipe.
M9R
a Clip:
- the oil vapour rebreathing hose onto the oil decant-
- the turbocharging pressure regulation hose of the
F4R or K9K or M9R
a Clip the wiring on the air filter unit air outlet pipe.
F4R
a Clip on the turbocharger cooling hose.
a Connect:
- the turbocharging pressure regulation valve hose
- the turbocharging pressure regulation hose to the
- the connector on the turbocharging pressure regu-
a Clip onto the turbocharger:
- the turbocharging pressure regulation valve hose
- the turbocharging pressure regulation hose clip on
a Pressurise the system using the (Ms. 554-07) to
check that there are no leaks (see 19A, Cooling,
Engine cooling system: Check, page 19A-14) .
a Fill the expansion bottle until it overflows.
a Tighten the expansion bottle cap.
a Clean any surfaces soiled by the coolant.
