REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
a Position the vehicle on a two-post lift (see Vehicle:
Towing and lifting) (02A, Lifting equipment).
a Disconnect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Re-
fitting) (80A, Battery).
a Remove:
- the engine cover,
- the air filter box (see 12A, Fuel mixture, Air filter
unit: Removal - Refitting, page 12A-13) .
a Unclip the cooling hoses from the heater matrix.
a Remove:
- the cooling hoses clip from the heater matrix,
- the downstream oxygen sensor (see 17B, Petrol
injection, Oxygen sensors: Removal - Refitting,
page 17B-17) ,
- the front right-hand wheel (see Wheel: Removal -
Refitting) (35A, Wheels and tyres),
- the engine undertray bolts,
- the engine undertray,
- the rear suspended engine mounting (see 19D,
Engine mounting, Lower engine tie-bar: Re-
moval - Refitting, page 19D-85) ,
- the front right-hand driveshaft (see Front right-
hand driveshaft: Removal - Refitting) (29A,
Driveshafts).
STARTING - CHARGING
Starter: Removal - Refitting
8 N.m

8 Nm
a Remove:
- the catalytic converter rear strut bolt,
- the catalytic converter rear strut nut (1) ,
- the catalytic converter rear strut,
- the silencer (see 19B, Exhaust, Silencer: Remov-
al - Refitting, page 19B-64) .
a Remove,
- the nuts (2) from the exhaust flange,
- the exhaust pipe rubber mounting bush bolt.
a Move the exhaust pipe to one side.
