Diesel injector: Removal - Refitting

- display the « before/after repair procedure » for the
computer selected,
- select « Injector » in the « List of components
stored by this computer » section,
- carry out the operations described in the « After re-
pair procedure » section.
a Check that there are no leaks.
a Switch on forced + after ignition.
a Connect the Diagnostic tool.
a In the Diagnostic tool :
- select the repair mode,
- select the programming mode,
- select command SC 035: HIGH PRESSURE FUEL
CIRCUIT FAULT FINDING.
a Check:
- the correct operation of the high pressure fuel cir-
cuit,
- that there are no leaks.
a Refit the engine cover.

I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
a Position the vehicle on a two-post lift (see Vehicle:
Towing and lifting) (02A, Lifting equipment).
a Disconnect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Re-
fitting) (80A, Battery).
a Remove:
- the engine cover,
- the engine undertray bolts,
- the engine undertray.
a Drain the cooling system (see 19A, Cooling, Cool-
ing system: Draining - Refilling, page 19A-16) .
a Remove:
- the lower engine tie-bars (see 1 9 D, Engine
mounting, Lower engine tie-bar: Removal - Re-
fitting, page 19D-85) ,
- the right-hand suspended engine mounting (see
19D, Engine mounting, Right-hand suspended
engine mounting: Removal - Refitting, page
19D-51) ,

- the exhaust gas recirculation rigid pipe (see 14A,
Antipollution, Exhaust gas recirculation rigid
pipe: Removal - Refitting, page 14A-62) ,
- the exhaust gas recirculation solenoid valve (see
14A, Antipollution, Exhaust gas recirculation
solenoid valve: Removal - Refitting, page 14A-
11) ,
- the injector rail protector (see 13B, Diesel injec-
tion, Injector rail protector: Removal - Refitting,
page 13B-126) ,
- the high pressure pipe between the rail and the in-
jector (see 13B, Diesel injection, High pressure
pipe between rail and injector: Removal - Refit-
ting, page 13B-161) .
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
a Lift the clip (1) between the fuel return rail and the in-
jector using a flat-blade screwdriver.
a Disconnect the fuel return rail from the injector.
a Move aside the fuel return rail.
a Fit a blanking plug.
