High pressure pipe between pump and rail: Removal - Refitting
M9R, and 742 or 744 or 746
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
a Remove the protector (4) from the nut on the high
pressure pipe between the pump and the rail on the
high pressure pump side.

a Disconnect the connector from the camshaft sensor.
WARNING
Do not remove the blanking plugs from each
component until the last moment.
Also, do not remove the components from their
packaging until they are to be fitted to the vehi-
cle.
a Remove:
- the retaining bolt (5) from the high pressure pipe
between the pump and the rail on the rocker cover,
- the bolt (6) from the high pressure pipe mounting
between the pump and the rail,
- the high pressure pipe mounting between the
pump and the rail,
- the nut (7) of the high pressure pipe between the
pump and the rail on the high pressure pump using
the tool, part number 77 11 223 720,
- the nut (8) of the high pressure pipe between the
pump and the rail on the injector rail using the
"prosteel" tool, part number 77 11 223 721,
- the high pressure pipe between the pump and the
rail.
a Fit blanking plugs on the high pressure pump and
the injector rail.
a Remove the rubber pad between the high pressure
pipe and the rocker cover.
