Cylinder no. 1 is located on the timing end back row.
IMPORTANT
To avoid all risk of damage to the systems, apply
the safety and cleanliness instructions and opera-
tion recommendations before carrying out any
repair (see 13B, Diesel injection, Diesel injec-
tion: Precautions for the repair, page 13B-1) .

IMPORTANT
Use the diagnostic tool before any operation is car-
ried out on the injection circuit to check:
- that the rail is not under pressure,
- that the fuel temperature is not too high.
Working on the circuit with the engine running is
strictly forbidden.
IMPORTANT
Wear leaktight gloves (Nitrile type) for this opera-
tion.
WARNING
To avoid any corrosion or damage, protect the
areas on which fuel is likely to run.
WARNING
To prevent impurities from entering the circuit, place
protective plugs on all fuel circuit components
exposed to the open air.
Note:
It is strictly forbidden to disconnect an injector con-
nector with the engine running.
Note:
This method describes the removal - refitting opera-
tion for the front row injectors, injectors 3 and 5 of
the back row and injector 1 of the back row.
REMOVING THE FRONT ROW INJECTORS
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
a Disconnect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Re-
fitting) (80A, Battery).
