Coolant pump: Removal - Refitting

II - REMOVAL OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a
Note:
The water pump bolts are not the same length,
mark their position.
a Remove:
- the water pump bolts (1) ,
- the water pump,
- the coolant pump seal,
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATIONS OPERATION
a Clean the water pump joint faces with SUPER DÉ-
CAPANT CLEANER FOR JOINT FACES (see Ve-
hicle: Parts and consumables for the repair) (MR
415, 04B, Consumables - Products).
WARNING
Do not scratch the aluminium joint faces: any
surface damage to the joint faces may cause
leaks.
WARNING
The joint faces must be clean, dry and free from
grease (avoid finger marks).
COOLING
a The coolant pump seal must always be replaced.
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a Refit the new seal on the coolant pump.
a Coat the water pump bolts with FRENETANCHE
(see Vehicle: Parts and consumables for the re-
pair) (MR 415, 04B, Consumables - Products).
a Refit:
- the water pump,
- the coolant pump bolts.

a Tighten to torque and in order the coolant pump
bolts (10 Nm).
III - FINAL OPERATION.
a Refit:
- the timing belt (see 11A, Top and front of engine,
- the right-hand suspended engine mounting (see
- the accessories pulley (see 11A, Top and front of
- the accessories belt (see 11A, Top and front of
