Coolant pump: Removal - Refitting

a Remove:
- the bolts (2) from the back row camshaft dephaser
cover,
- the back row camshaft dephaser cover,
- the back row dephaser cover seal,
- the coolant pump cover bolts,
- the coolant pump cover (3) ,
- the primary chain hydraulic tensioner (see 11A,
Top and front of engine, Timing chain: Removal
- Refitting, page 11A-88) .
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART

Note:
Use a cloth to prevent bolts from falling or cool-
ant from entering the timing cover.
a Remove the bolts (4) from the coolant pump.
a Rotate the engine anti-clockwise by 20˚.

a Remove the coolant pump.
a Refit the coolant pump O-rings (5) .
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a Always replace:
- the coolant pump O-rings,
- the back row camshaft dephaser cover seal.
a Use SUPER CLEANING AGENT FOR JOINT FA-
CES (see Vehicle: Parts and consumables for
the repair) (04B, Consumables - Products) to clean
the joint faces:
- of the coolant pump cover,

- of the timing cover at the coolant pump.
a Remove the residue using a plastic spatula.

IMPORTANT
Wear goggles with side protectors for this opera-
tion.
IMPORTANT
Wear protective gloves during the operation.
WARNING
Do not scrape the joint faces of the aluminium,
any damage caused to the joint face will result in
a risk of leaks.
