Fuel pressure regulator: Removal - Refitting

a Prepare the fuel pressure regulator by:
- removing the protective plug,
- checking the seal position,
- lubricating the new O-ring with clean diesel fuel.
Note:
Lubrication is very important to avoid external
leakage.
a Remove the protective plug from the opening in the
high pressure pump.
a Flush the fuel pressure regulator housing by activat-
ing the manual priming pump.
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a Refit a new seal on the fuel pressure regulator.
a Fit the new fuel pressure regulator by gently rotating
it clockwise and gently pushing it until it is complete-
ly in.
a Torque tighten the fuel pressure regulator bolts (6
N.m).
a Connect the fuel pressure regulator connector.
III - FINAL OPERATION
a Connect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Refit-
ting) (80A, Battery).
a Switch on the forced + after ignition feed.
a Connect the Diagnostic tool.
a In the Diagnostic tool :
- select the repair mode,
- select the programming mode,
- select command SC 035: HIGH PRESSURE FUEL
CIRCUIT FAULT FINDING.
a Check:
- the correct operation of the high pressure fuel cir-
cuit,
- that there are no leaks.
a Refit the engine cover.
