Exhaust gas recirculation rigid pipe: Removal - Refitting

2 - Second type of fitting of the exhaust gas
recirculation assembly
a Remove:
- the bolts (3) from the lifting eye at the timing end,
- the lifting eye on the timing end.
a Remove:
- the bolts (4) of the exhaust gas recirculation rigid
pipe bracket on the cylinder head,
- the bolts (5) of the exhaust gas recirculation rigid
pipe from the exhaust manifold,
- the bolts (6) of the exhaust gas recirculation rigid
pipe from the exhaust gas cooler rigid pipe,
- the seal between the exhaust gas recirculation rigid
pipe and the exhaust gas cooler,

- the seal between the exhaust gas recirculation rigid
pipe and the exhaust manifold,
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
1 - Same fitting for the exhaust gas recirculation
assembly
a Use GREY ABRASIVE PADS (see Vehicle: Parts
and consumables for the repair) (04B, Consum-
ables - Products) to clean the exhaust manifold joint
face.
a Use SURFACE CLEANER (see Vehicle: Parts
and consumables for the repair) (04B, Consum-
ables - Products) and CLEAN CLOTHS to degrease
the joint face of the exhaust manifold.
WARNING
To ensure proper sealing, the gasket surfaces
must be clean, dry and not greasy (avoid any fin-
ger marks).
2 - Second type of fitting of the exhaust gas
recirculation assembly
a
WARNING
Do not scrape the joint faces of the aluminium,
any damage caused to the joint face will result in
a risk of leaks.
a Use GREY ABRASIVE PADS (see Vehicle: Parts
and consumables for the repair) (04B, Consum-
ables - Products) to clean the exhaust gas cooler
joint face.
a Use SURFACE CLEANER (see Vehicle: Parts
and consumables for the repair) (04B, Consum-
ables - Products) and CLEAN CLOTHS to degrease
the joint face of the exhaust gas cooler.
WARNING
