Catalytic converter: Removal - Refitting

a Remove the upstream oxygen sensor (3) using the
(Mot. 1495-01).
a Remove:
- the lifting bracket bolt on the timing end,
- the lifting bracket on the timing end,
- the heat shield clips on the bulkhead,
- the heat shield on the bulkhead.
a Remove:
- the nuts (4) from the exhaust flange,
- the exhaust clamp seal.

II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART

a Unclip the downstream oxygen sensor wiring (5) .
a Disconnect the downstream oxygen sensor connec-
tor.
a Remove:
- the bolt (6) securing the catalytic converter bracket
- the bolt (7) securing the upstream strut of the cata-
- the bolt (8) securing the downstream strut of the
- the nut (9) securing the catalytic converter down-
- the catalytic converter downstream strut.
a Remove:
- the catalytic converter elbow nuts (10) ,
- the catalytic converter,
- the seal between the catalytic converter and the

- on the workbench, the downstream oxygen sensor

lytic converter on the catalytic converter,
catalytic converter on the catalytic converter,
stream strut on the gearbox,
turbocharger,
using tool (Mot. 1495-01).
