Particle filter temperature sensors: Removal - Refitting

II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a Coat the particle filter upstream temperature sensor
screw union with COPPER-ALUMINIUM LUBRI-
CANT (see Vehicle: Parts and consumables for
the repair) (MR 415, 04B, Consumables - Prod-
ucts).
a Refit the particle filter upstream temperature sensor.
a
Note:
Use an open-jawed spanner to hold the adapter
union in place and prevent it from loosening. Any
adapter union that is loosened must be replaced.
a Torque tighten the particle filter upstream temper-
ature sensor (30 N.m).
III - FINAL OPERATION
a Refit:
- the particle filter (see 19B, Exhaust, Particle fil-
ter: Removal - Refitting, page 19B-71) ,
- the engine undertray,
- the engine undertray bolts.
a Check that there are no faults using the Diagnostic
tool.

Note:
Depending on the version, the particle filter may
or may not be equipped with a particle filter
downstream temperature sensor.
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
a Position the vehicle on a two-post lift (see Vehicle:
Towing and lifting) (MR 415, 02A, Lifting equip-
ment).
a Remove:
- the engine undertray bolts,
- the engine undertray.
EXHAUST
a Remove the exhaust heat shield retaining clip (2) .
a Move the exhaust heat shield to one side slightly.
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
a Disconnect the particle filter downstream tempera-
ture sensor connector (3) .
