High pressure pipe between pump and rail: Removal - Refitting

- a new intercooler air inlet pipe seal.
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a Remove the blanking plugs.
a Fit a new high pressure pipe between the pump and
the rail.
a Fit without tightening the high pressure pipe nuts by
hand until they make contact between the pump and
the rail, starting at the injector rail end.
a Torque tighten:
- the high pressure pipe nut between the pump
and the rail on the high pressure pump (28 N.m)
using the tool (Mot. 1566),
- the high pressure pipe nut between the pump
and the rail on the injector rail (28 N.m) using the
tool (Mot. 1566).
III - FINAL OPERATION
a Refit the injector rail protector.
a Torque tighten the injector rail protector nuts (21
N.m).
a Fit the diesel injection wiring.
a Refit the nut of the diesel injection wiring.
a Clip on the diesel injection wiring.
a Connect:
- the connector for the fuel flow regulation solenoid
valve,
- the connector for the fuel pressure regulation sole-
noid valve,
- the diesel temperature sensor connector.
- the heater plug connectors,
- the connectors of the diesel injectors.
a Clip on the diesel injector wiring.
a Remove the blanking plugs from:
- the opening of the union of the exhaust fuel injector
solenoid valve supply pipe,
- the opening of the exhaust fuel injector solenoid
valve.
a Connect the supply pipe union of the exhaust fuel in-
jector solenoid valve.
a Clip the alternator wiring onto the injector rail protec-
tor.
a Clip the diesel drain pipe onto the injector rail protec-
tor.

a Connect the injector rail pressure sensor connector.
a Fit the dipstick guide tube.
a Torque tighten the dipstick guide bolts (8 N.m).
a Refit:
- the dipstick,
- the injector rail protector cover,
a Clip on the damper valve wiring.
a Fit the clip for the intercooler air outlet pipe.
a Clip the intercooler air outlet pipe onto the damper
valve.
a Clip on the wiring of the turbocharging pressure sen-
sor.
a Connect the turbocharger pressure sensor connec-
tor.
a Refit the clip of the intercooler air inlet pipe.
a Clip on the intercooler air inlet pipe.
a Refit:
- the bolt on the intercooler air inlet pipe,
- the nut on the intercooler air inlet pipe.
a Connect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Refit-
ting) (80A, Battery).
a Check that there are no diesel leaks (see 13B, Die-
sel injection, High pressure pipe: Check, page
13B-134) .
