Diesel injector: Removal - Refitting

II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a
WARNING
Do not remove the blanking plugs from each
component until the last moment.
Also, do not remove the components from their
packaging until they are to be fitted to the vehi-
cle.
a Fit new seals on the injectors.
a Refit:
- the injectors following the marks made when they
were removed,
- the injector clamps.
- the bolts on the injector clamps.
a Torque tighten the injector clamp bolts35 (N.m).
a If an injector is replaced, note the injector IMA code
and the corresponding cylinder number.
Note:
IMA codes are from X1 to XN.
After connecting the battery, program the injec-
tors using the Diagnostic tool.

III - FINAL OPERATION
a Refit:
- the high pressure pipes between the rail and the in-
jector (see 13B, Diesel injection, High pressure
pipe between rail and injector: Removal - Refit-
ting, page 13B-161) ,
- the diesel injector fuel return rail (see 13B, Diesel
injection, Diesel injector fuel return rail: Re-
moval - Refitting, page 13B-108) ,
- the oil separator (see 11A, Top and front of en-
gine, Oil decanter: Removal - Refitting, page
11A-307) ,
- the intercooler air inlet pipe temporarily.
a Connect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Refit-
ting) (80A, Battery).
a Prime the diesel circuit using the manual priming
pump.
a Apply the after repair procedure using the Diagnos-
tic tool :
- connect the Diagnostic tool,
- select the « injection computer » ,
- go to repair mode,
- display the « Before/After repair procedure » for
the computer selected,
- select « Injector » in the « List of components con-
trolled by this computer » section,
- carry out the operations described in the « After re-
pair procedure » section.
a Check that there are no leaks.
a Disconnect the intercooler air inlet pipe.
a Remove the intercooler air inlet pipe.
a Refit the injector rail protector (see 13B, Diesel in-
jection, Injector rail protector: Removal - Refit-
ting, page 13B-126) .
Note:
Check that the intercooler air inlet pipe is cor-
rectly clipped onto the turbocharger.
a Connect the intercooler air inlet pipe on the turbo-
charger.
a Refit the bolts of the intercooler air inlet pipe on the
air intake distributor.
a Fit the cooling radiator top hose on the intercooler air
inlet pipe.
