Fuel pressure regulator: Removal - Refitting

a
WARNING
T o prevent impurities from entering the circuit,
place protective plugs on all fuel circuit compo-
nents exposed to the open air.
WARNING
Prepare for the flow of fluid, and protect the sur-
rounding components.
a Disconnect the fuel return pipe quick release union
(2) on the high pressure pump.
a Move the fuel return pipe on the high pressure pump
to one side.
a Move the engine wiring aside.

a Remove:
- the fuel pressure regulator bolts,
- fuel pressure regulator.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a Always replace the fuel pressure regulator seal.
a Use SURFACE CLEANER (see Vehicle: Parts
and consumables for the repair) (MR 415, 04B,
Consumables - Products) to clean:
- the fuel pressure regulator bearing faces.
a Wipe the bearing face of the fuel pressure regulator
on the high pressure pump using a compressed air
nozzle (see 13B, Diesel injection, Diesel injec-
tion: Precautions for the repair, page 13B-1) .
a Remove:
- the blanking plug of the fuel pressure regulator,
