Diesel injector fuel return rail: Removal - Refitting
K9K, and 780
a Pull the clip (6) from the intercooler inlet air pipe.
a Disconnect the intercooler air inlet pipe from the tur-
bocharger.
a Move aside the intercooler air inlet pipe.
a Unclip (7) the cover from the injector rail protector.
a Remove:
- the injector rail protector cover bolt (8) ,
- the injector rail protector cover nut (9) ,
- the injector rail protector cover,
- the dipstick,

- the dipstick well bolts (10) ,
- the dipstick well.
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
a Disconnect the fuel temperature sensor connector
(11) .
a Clean the diesel injector fuel return rail unions (12)
on the high pressure pump (see 13B, Diesel injec-
tion, Diesel injection: Precautions for the repair,
page 13B-1) .
WARNING
To avoid any corrosion or damage, protect the
areas on which fuel is likely to run.
a Disconnect the diesel injector fuel return rail unions
(12) on the high pressure pump.
a Fit suitable blanking plugs on the diesel injector fuel
return rail and on the high pressure pump.
a Clean the unions (13) of the diesel injector fuel re-
turn rail (see 13B, Diesel injection, Diesel injec-
tion: Precautions for the repair, page 13B-1) .
