High pressure pump: Removal - Refitting
M9R, and 744 or 748 or 754 or 800 or 802 or 805 or 806 or 808 or 809 or 816 or 845 or 849
a Fit a separator (8) under the high pressure pump
pinion (9) .
a Fit an arm (10) on the separator.

a Remove:
- the high pressure pump pinion,
- the separator and the arm.
a Refit:
- the pinion to the new high pressure pump,
- the high pressure pump nut.
a Secure the high pressure pump pinion in a vice's
protective jaws.
a Torque tighten the high pressure pump pinion nut
(90 N.m).
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a
WARNING
Do not remove the blanking plugs from each
component until the last moment.
Also, do not remove the components from their
packaging until they are to be fitted to the vehi-
cle.
a Lubricate the new high-pressure pump seal with en-
gine oil.
Note:
Do not apply pressure to the high-pressure pump
gear teeth.
Check that the high pressure pump is in contact
with the cylinder head before positioning the high
pressure pump bolts.
a Refit:
- the new high pressure pump O-ring.
- the high pressure pump,
- new high pressure pump bolts,
