II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
a Remove the earth strap bolt (2) .
a Move the earth strap to one side.
a Remove the starter supply nut (3) .
a Move aside the starter supply cable.
a Undo the starter excitation nut (4) .
a Move aside the starter excitation cable.
a Remove:
- the starter bolts (5) ,
STARTING - CHARGING

- the starter,
- the sealing panel.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a parts always to be replaced: coolant-engine oil
heat exchanger seal on the cylinder block (10,05,
05,12).
a Check that the centring dowels are in place.
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a Refit:
- the sealing panel,
- the starter.
a Position the starter excitation cable.
a Torque tighten the starter excitation nut (5 N.m).
a Position the starter supply cable.
a Torque tighten the starter supply nut (8 N.m).
a Position the earth strap.
a Torque tighten the earth strap bolt (21 N.m).
III - FINAL OPERATION
a Remove the safety strap(s).
a Position the oil-water heat exchanger.
a Refit:
- a new seal to the oil-water heat exchanger,
- the oil-water heat exchanger.
a Torque tighten the oil-water heat exchanger bolts
(32 N.m).
a Refit:
- the oil pressure sensor (see 10A, Engine and cyl-
inder block assembly, Oil pressure sensor: Re-
moval - Refitting, page 10A-227) ,
- the oil filter (see 10A, Engine and cylinder block
assembly, Oil filter: Removal - Refitting, page
10A-117) ,
- the engine undertray.
a Connect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Refit-
ting) (80A, Battery).
