Coolant pump inlet pipe: Removal - Refitting
M9R, and 800 or 802 or 805 or 806 or 808 or 809 or 816 or 845 or 849
a Remove:
- the coolant pump inlet pipe bolt (2) on the cylinder
block,
- the coolant pump inlet pipe with the coolant outlet
union,
- the coolant pump inlet pipe seal,
- the coolant outlet union seal.
a Remove:
- the clip (3) of the hose between the exhaust gas in-
tercooler and the coolant pump inlet pipe using the
tool (Mot. 1448),
- the clip (4) of the hose between the coolant outlet
union and the coolant pump inlet pipe at the cool-
ant pump inlet pipe end using the tool (Mot. 1448).
a Remove:
- the hose between the exhaust gas cooler and the
coolant pump inlet pipe,
- the hose between the coolant outlet union and the
coolant pump inlet pipe.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a Clean and degrease using SURFACE CLEANER
(see Vehicle: Parts and consumables for the re-
pair) (04B, Consumables - Products) the bearing
faces between the coolant outlet union and the oil fil-
ter unit.
COOLING
a Always replace:
- the coolant pump inlet pipe seal,
- the coolant outlet union seal,
- the EGR rigid pipe.
a Refit:
- a new coolant pump inlet pipe seal,
- a new coolant outlet union seal,
- the hose between the coolant outlet union and the
- the clip of the hose between the coolant outlet

- the hose between the exhaust gas cooler and the

II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a Refit:
- the coolant pump inlet pipe with the coolant outlet
- the coolant pump inlet pipe bolt on the cylinder
a Torque tighten the coolant pump inlet pipe bolt on
the cylinder block (10 N.m).
a Fit the coolant outlet union on the oil filter unit.
a Refit the coolant outlet union bolts on the oil filter
unit.
a Tighten the coolant outlet union bolts on the oil filter
unit.
a Clip the alternator wiring.
III - FINAL OPERATION
a Refit:
- the exhaust gas cooler (see 14A, Antipollution,
- the starter (see 16A, Starting - Charging, Starter:
19A-145
WARNING
The joint faces must be clean, dry and free from
grease (avoid finger marks).
