Thermoplunger unit: Removal - Refitting
M9R, and 802 or 805 or 806 or 808 or 809 or 816 or 845 or 849
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
If replacing the thermoplunger unit
a Remove:
- the nuts (7) on the thermoplunger unit wiring,
- the thermoplunger unit wiring.
a Fit the heating element unit wiring to the new heating
element unit.
a Refit the heating element unit wiring nuts.
a Tighten the heating element unit wiring nuts.
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a Refit:
- the heating element unit,
- the thermoplunger unit bolts.
a Tighten the thermoplunger unit bolts.
a Fit the earth wire.
a Refit the earth wire nut.
a Tighten the earth wire nut.
a Connect the thermoplunger unit hoses.
a Refit the clips on the heating element unit hoses us-
ing tool (Mot. 1448).
a Remove the tools (Ms. 583).
COOLING
a Connect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Refit-
ting) (80A, Battery).
a Bleed the cooling system (see 19A, Cooling, Cool-
ing system: Draining - Refilling, page 19A-16) .
a Disconnect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Re-
fitting) (80A, Battery).
a Connect the thermoplunger unit connector.
III - FINAL OPERATION
a Refit:
- the front left-hand wheel arch liner (see Front
- the front left-hand wheel (see Wheel: Removal -
a Connect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Refit-
ting) (80A, Battery).

WARNING
Before bleeding the cooling system, it is essential
to deactivate the thermoplungers to avoid irrepa-
rably damaging them.
