Coolant pump: Removal - Refitting

- the front and rear catalytic pre-converters (see
Front catalytic pre-converter: Removal - Refit-
ting) and (see Rear catalytic pre-converter: Re-
moval - Refitting) .
a Position the pads of the (Mot. 1390) under areas (A)
.
a Remove the right-hand suspended engine mounting
(see 1 9 D , Engine mounting, Right-hand sus-
pended engine mounting: Removal - Refitting,
page 19D-51) .

a Remove the central nut (1) from the rubber pad on
the left-hand suspended engine mounting.
a Use a copper hammer to strike the threaded rod of
the left-hand suspended engine mounting to sepa-
rate the engine from the body.
a Remove the « engine and gearbox » assembly (see
10A, Engine and cylinder block assembly, En-
gine - gearbox assembly: Removal - Refitting,
page 10A-1) .
a Fit the lifting eye on the timing end (see 11A, Top
and front of engine, Lifting eyes: Removal - Re-
fitting, page 11A-318) .
a Separate the gearbox from the engine (see Auto-
matic gearbox: Removal - Refitting) (23A, Auto-
matic transmission).
a Fit the engine on the component support (see En-
gine support equipment: Use) .
a Remove the accessories belt from the air condition-
ing compressor (see 11A, Top and front of engine,
Accessories belt: Removal - Refitting, page 11A-
13) .
a Set the engine at TDC by aligning the mark on the
crankshaft accessories pulley and on the coolant
pump cover.

Note:
The pads of the (Mot. 1390) should almost be in
contact with the engine; when struck with the
copper hammer, the engine comes to rest on the
support.
