Alternator: Removal - Refitting

Tightening torquesm
alternator bolts
nut for the positive ter-
minal of the alternator
intercooler air outlet
pipe clip at the damper
valve end
IMPORTANT
Wear protective gloves during the operation.
REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
a Position the vehicle on a two-post lift (see Vehicle:
Towing and lifting) (02A, Lifting equipment).
a Disconnect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Re-
fitting) (80A, Battery).
a Remove the front engine cover.
M9R, and 742 or 744 or 746 or 748 or 754
a Disconnect the turbocharger pressure sensor con-
nector (1) .
a Remove the nut (2) from the turbocharging pressure
sensor.
a Move aside the turbocharging pressure sensor (3) .
STARTING - CHARGING
25 N.m
21 N.m
5.5 N.m

a Loosen the clip (4) for the intercooler air outlet pipe
at the damper valve end.
a Disconnect the intercooler air outlet pipe at the
damper valve end.
a Remove:
- the engine undertray bolts,
- the engine undertray.
a Remove the clip (5) from the intercooler air outlet
pipe at the intercooler end.
a Disconnect the intercooler air outlet pipe at the inter-
cooler end.
