M9R, and 800 or 802 or 805 or 806 or 809 or 816 or 845 or 849
- the particle filter,
- the seal between the particle filter and the connect-
ing hose,
- the connecting hose with the sensors.
IV - FOR VEHICLES PRODUCED FROM 02/04/2008
a Remove:
- the connecting hose - particle filter assembly,
- the seal of the connecting hose on the catalytic pre-
converter, then discard it.
Note:
If replacing the particle filter, remove the con-
necting hose for re-use (see 19B, Exhaust, Con-
necting hose: Removal - Refitting, page 19B-
135) .
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a Always replace:
- the seal between the catalytic pre-converter and
the connecting hose,
- the seal between the connecting hose and the par-
ticle filter,
- the adapter unions of particle filter pressure mea-
surement lines if loosened or when replacing the
particle filter,
- the adapter unions of particle filter temperature
sensors if loosened or when replacing the particle
filter.
Note:
The Parts Department supplies exhaust pipes
with or without a hole for the particle filter down-
stream temperature sensor. If a vehicle which
has an exhaust pipe with a hole for the particle
filter downstream temperature sensor is brought
into the workshop even though the vehicle is not
equipped with this sensor, also order an appro-
priate exhaust pipe plug (see the spare parts cat-
alogue).
EXHAUST
a Using SURFACE CLEANER (see Vehicle: Parts
and consumables for the repair) (04B, Consuma-
bles - Products), clean and degrease the bearing fa-
ces of:
- between the catalytic pre-converter and the con-
- between the connecting hose and the particle filter.
II - FOR VEHICLES PRODUCED BEFORE 02/04/
2008
a Fit the connecting hose with the sensors.
a Pass the « particle filter downstream pressure mea-
surement line - particle filter downstream tempera-
ture sensor - clips » assembly into the engine
compartment.
a Fit the particle filter using a component jack.
a Refit:
- a new seal between the particle filter and the con-
- the particle filter on the connecting hose,
- a new seal between the connecting hose and the
- the connecting hose on the catalytic pre-converter.
III - FOR VEHICLES PRODUCED FROM 02/04/2008
a
a Refit:
- a new seal between the connecting hose and the
- the particle filter, using a component jack.
IV - FINAL OPERATION
a Fit the « particle filter downstream pressure mea-
surement line - particle filter downstream tempera-
ture sensor - clips » assembly behind the exhaust
heat shield.
a Clip the particle filter downstream pressure mea-
surement line - particle filter downstream tempera-
ture sensor assembly on the exhaust heat shield.
a Refit the particle filter pressure sensor on its mount-
ing.
