Second step for removing the fuel return rail
unions from the diesel injectors
a
Note:
If the force exerted on the retaining clip is suffi-
cient when applied continuously using the screw-
driver, the injector diesel return unions are
released easily.
WARNING
Do not use the screwdriver to lever the injector
diesel return unions directly.
a Use a thin, flat-blade screwdriver to push down (13)
on the lower tabs of the clips previously in contact
with the rocker cover, without fully removing the clips
from their injectors.
a Manually extract the injector diesel return unions at
(14) , while maintaining pressure (13) on the low-
er brackets of the retaining clips using a fine,
flat-blade screwdriver.
a Fit the appropriate blanking plugs on the diesel fuel
return rail unions.
DIESEL INJECTION
Injector leak flow: Check

a Connect the four transparent hoses of the tool (Mot.
1771) to the injectors instead of the injector fuel re-
turn pipes.
a Immerse the hoses into the four graduated mea-
suring cylinder (15) of the tool (Mot. 1711).
a Refit:
- the dipstick well,
- the dipstick well bolts.
a Tighten the dipstick well bolts.
a Refit the dipstick.
a Fit:
- the intercooler air inlet pipe,
- the intercooler inlet air pipe clip in its original posi-
tion.
a Clip the intercooler air inlet pipe to the turbocharger.
a Refit:
- the nut to the intercooler inlet air pipe,
- the intercooler air inlet hose bolt.
a Tighten:
- the nut to the intercooler inlet air pipe,
- the intercooler air inlet hose bolt.
a Refit the air inlet duct onto the damper flap.
a Connect:
- the camshaft position sensor connector,
- the damper valve connector,
- the intercooler outlet air pipe to the damper valve.
a Tighten the intercooler air outlet pipe clip.
