Cooling system: Draining - Refilling

WARNING
It is essential to open all of the bleed screws to
remove as much as air as possible in the cooling
system. Failure to perform this procedure may
prevent the cooling system from filling properly
and may damage the engine.
Procedure for accessing the bleed screws on the
heater matrix pipe and on the water chamber

Note:
M4R and V4Y engines have a single bleed screw
located on the heater matrix outlet hose.

a Unclip from the turbocharger:
- the turbocharging pressure regulation hose clip on
the turbocharger,
- the turbocharging pressure regulation valve hose
clip.
a Disconnect:
- the connector on the turbocharging pressure regu-
lation valve control solenoid valve,
- the turbocharging pressure regulation hose from
the turbocharger,
- the turbocharging pressure regulation valve hose
from the turbocharger.
a Unclip the turbocharger cooling hose.

a Unclip the wiring from the air filter unit air outlet pipe.

a Unclip:
- the turbocharging pressure regulation hose on the
- the oil vapour rebreathing hose from the oil separa-

a Unclip the brake servo vacuum pipe from the air filter
box air outlet pipe.

a Unclip the oil vapour rebreathing hose union from
the air filter unit air outlet pipe.
K9K or M9R
a Unclip the turbocharging pressure regulation hose
on the turbocharger from the air filter unit air outlet
pipe.
F4R or K9K or M9R
a Undo the clip of the air filter unit air outlet pipe at the
turbocharger end.
a Remove:
- the air outlet pipe of the air filter unit,
- the air filter unit (see 12A, Fuel mixture, Air filter
19A-18
