Connecting hose: Removal - Refitting
M9R, and 742 or 744 or 746 or 748 or 754
Tightening torquesm
exhaust clamp between
the intermediate pipe
and the silencer
IMPORTANT
To avoid all risk of damage to the systems, apply
the safety and cleanliness instructions and opera-
tion recommendations before carrying out any
repair:
- see Exhaust: Precautions for repair (19B,
Exhaust),
- see Vehicle: Precautions for repair (01D,
Mechanical introduction).
REMOVAL
a Position the vehicle on a lift (see Vehicle: Towing
and lifting) .

Note:
The connecting hose is integrated with the inter-
mediate pipe.
Remove the connecting hose - intermediate pipe as-
sembly (see 19B, Exhaust, Intermediate pipe: Re-
moval - Refitting, page 19B-56) .
II - FOR VEHICLES PRODUCED FROM 02/04/2008
a Cut the exhaust pipe (see 19B, Exhaust, Exhaust:
Precautions for the repair, page 19B-18) between
the connecting hose and the intermediate pipe, in
the designated cutting zone (see 19B, Exhaust, Ex-
haust: List and location of components, page
19B-1) .
EXHAUST
21 N.m
a Remove:
- the engine undertray,
- the bolt of the connecting hose suspension stud on
- the connecting hose nuts (1) on the catalytic con-
- the connecting hose,
- the connecting hose seal on the catalytic converter,
REFITTING
a Parts always to be replaced:
- the connecting hose seal on the catalytic converter,
- the exhaust clip.
a Clean the bearing faces of the connecting hose and
the catalytic pre-converter using abrasive pads
(see Vehicle: Parts and consumables for the re-
pair) .
a Afterwards, degrease these bearing faces using
surface cleaner (see Vehicle: Parts and consum-
ables for the repair) and clean cloths.

a Refit the connecting hose - intermediate pipe as-
sembly (see 19B, Exhaust, Intermediate pipe: Re-
moval - Refitting, page 19B-56) .
