Heater plugs: Removal - Refitting
K9K, and 782
a Clean the edges of the heater plugs using a com-
pressed air nozzle to avoid any impurities getting
into the cylinders.
Note:
If the heater plugs are seized, use the heater
plug removal tool (see Heater plug removal
tool: Use) (Technical Note 5197A, 06A, Tooling).
a Unscrew the heater plugs using a 10 mm long sock-
et connected to a universal joint or a hinged wrench
for heater plug.
a Use a hose to unscrew the heater plugs completely.
a Remove the heater plugs.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a parts always to be replaced: turbocharger air
cooler air outlet pipe seal (10,09,04,05).
a parts always to be replaced: turbocharger air
cooler air inlet pipe seal (10,09,04,04).
a Use a tweezers to remove:
- the intercooler air outlet pipe seal,
- the intercooler air inlet pipe seal.
PREHEATING

a Refit:
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a Refit the heater plugs using a hose.
a Torque tighten the heater plugs (15 N.m).
a Connect the connector for each heater plug.
III - FINAL OPERATION
a Refit the injector rail protector cover.
a Clip on the damper valve wiring.
a Fit the clip for the intercooler air outlet pipe.
a Clip the intercooler air outlet pipe on the damper
a Clip on the wiring of the turbocharging pressure sen-

a Connect the turbocharger pressure sensor connec-
a Refit the clip of the intercooler air inlet pipe.
a Clip on the intercooler air inlet pipe.

Note:
Check that the seal of the intercooler air inlet and
outlet pipes are fitted the right way round.
- a new intercooler air outlet pipe seal,
- a new intercooler air inlet pipe seal.
