High pressure pipe between pump and rail: Removal - Refitting

a parts always to be replaced: High pressure pipe
between the pump and rail (11,05,03,02).
WARNING
Before fitting a new high pressure pipe, lightly
lubricate the nut threads with the oil from the
applicator provided in the new parts kit.
Be careful not to allow oil into the high pressure
pipe.
Do not lubricate high pressure pipes supplied
without an applicator, as these high pressure
pipes are self-lubricating.
WARNING
Do not remove the blanking plugs from each
component until the last moment.
Also, do not remove the components from their
packaging until they are to be fitted to the vehi-
cle.
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a Remove the blanking plugs.
a Fit a new high-pressure pipe between the injection
rail and the high-pressure pump.
a Position:
- the olive of the high pressure pipe between the
high pressure pump and the injector rail on the in-
jector rail,
- the olive of the high pressure pipe between the
high pressure pump and the injector rail on the high
pressure pump.
a Correctly position the pad between the high pres-
sure pipe and the rocker cover.
a Fit without tightening the nuts of the high pressure
pipe between the high pressure pump and the injec-
tor rail, starting with the nut on the injector rail end.
a Torque tighten:
- the nut of the high pressure pipe between the
high pressure pump and the injector rail, on the
high pressure pump side (30 N.m) using the tool
(Mot. 1566),
- the nut of the high pressure pipe between the
high pressure pump and the injector rail, on the
injector rail end (30 N.m) using the tool (Mot.
1566).

a Refit:
- the bolt of the high pressure pipe between the high
pressure pump and the injector rail on the rocker
cover,
- the protector for the nut of the high pressure pipe
between the high pressure pump and the injector
rail, on the high pressure pump side.
III - FINAL OPERATION
a Refit a new camshaft position sensor seal.
a Position the camshaft position sensor.
a Tighten to torque the camshaft position sensor
bolt (10 N.m).
a Refit the front row injector rail protector (see 13B,
Diesel injection, Injector rail protector: Removal
- Refitting, page 13B-126) .
a Connect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Refit-
ting) (80A, Battery).
a Prime the diesel circuit using the manual priming
pump.
a Switch on forced + after ignition.
a Connect the Diagnostic tool.
a In the Diagnostic tool :
- select the repair mode,
- select the programming mode,
- select command SC 035: HIGH PRESSURE FUEL
CIRCUIT FAULT FINDING.
a Check:
- the correct operation of the high pressure fuel cir-
cuit,
- that there are no leaks.
a Refit the engine cover.
