Heater plugs: Removal - Refitting

II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
a Disconnect the heater plug connectors (4) .
a Clean and blast around the heater plugs to prevent
any impurities entering the cylinders.
a Remove the heater plugs (5) using a 10 mm long
socket.

REFITTING
I - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART

a

a Refit the heater plugs.
a Torque tighten the heater plugs (18 N.m).
a Connect the heater plug connectors.
II - FINAL OPERATION
1 - Heater plug for cylinders 2, 4, 6, 5
a Refit the engine cover.
2 - Cylinder 3 heater plug
a Position the fuel pipes.
a Clip the fuel pipes onto the support.

a Refit the engine cover.
3 - Cylinder 1 heater plug
a Refit:

Note:
If the heater plugs are jammed (see Heater plug
removal tool: Use) (Technical Note 5197A, 06A,
Tooling).
Note:
Use a hose to unscrew the heater plugs com-
pletely.
Note:
Ensure that no impurities enter the cylinders dur-
ing the operation.
- the lifting eye on the timing end (see 11A, Top and
front of engine, Lifting eyes: Removal - Refit-
ting, page 11A-318) ,
