High pressure pipe between pump and rail: Removal - Refitting
M9R, and 744 or 748 or 754 or 800 or 802 or 805 or 806 or 808 or 809 or 816 or 845 or 849
- the air filter unit (see 12A, Fuel mixture, Air filter
unit: Removal - Refitting, page 12A-13) .
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
a Remove the protector (4) from the nut on the high
pressure pipe between the pump and the rail on the
high pressure pump side.
a Disconnect the connector (5) from the camshaft po-
sition sensor.
a Unclip the diesel temperature sensor (6) .

WARNING
To prevent impurities from entering the circuit,
place protective plugs on all fuel circuit compo-
nents exposed to the open air.
a Undo:
- the nut (7) of the high pressure pipe between the
pump and the rail on the injector rail using the tool,
part number 77 11 223 721.
- the nut (8) of the high pressure pipe between the
pump and the rail on the high pressure pump using
the tool, part number 77 11 223 720,
a Mark the position of the rubber pad (9) on the high
pressure pipe between the pump and the rail on the
rocker cover.
a Remove:
- the bolts (10) securing the high pressure pipe be-
tween the pump and the rail on the rocker cover,
- the high pressure pipe between the pump and the
rail.
a Fit blanking plugs.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a Always replace:
- the high pressure pipe between the pump and the
rail,
