REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
a Position the vehicle on a two-post lift (see Vehicle:
Towing and lifting) (MR 415, 02A, Lifting equip-
ment).
a Remove the front engine cover.

a Remove:
- the bolts (1) from the turbocharger heat shield,
- the turbocharger heat shield.
a Remove the catalytic converter nuts (2) on the turbo-
charger.
a Remove:
- the front right-hand wheel (see Wheel: Removal -
- the engine undertray bolts,
- the engine undertray.
a Drain the gearbox (see Manual gearbox oils:
Draining - Filling) (MR 415, 21A, Manual gearbox).
a Remove:
- the front right-hand wheel driveshaft (see Front
- the right-hand differential output seal (see Differ-

Note:
Apply SUPER RELEASING AGENT (see Vehi-
cle: Parts and consumables for the repair)
(MR 415, 04B, Consumables - Products) to the
turbocharger studs to prevent the studs from
breaking when the catalytic converter nuts are
loosened.
