High pressure pump: Removal - Refitting
M9R, and 742 or 744 or 746
a Tighten the high pressure pump bolts in order.
III - FINAL OPERATION
a Connect the fuel pipe quick-release union between
the fuel filter and the high pressure pump.
a Refit:
- the air filter unit (see 12A, Fuel mixture, Air filter
unit: Removal - Refitting, page 12A-13) ,
- the new high pressure pipe between the pump and
the rail (see 13B, Diesel injection, High pressure
pipe between pump and rail: Removal - Refit-
ting, page 13B-140) ,
- the intercooler inlet air pipe temporarily.
a Connect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Refit-
ting) (MR 415, 80A, Battery).
a Check that there are no leaks.
a Disconnect the intercooler air inlet pipe from the tur-
bocharger.
a Move the intercooler inlet air pipe to one side.
a Refit the injector rail protector (see 13B, Diesel in-
jection, Injector rail protector: Removal - Refit-
ting, page 13B-126) .
Note:
Check that the intercooler air inlet pipe is cor-
rectly clipped onto the turbocharger.
a Connect the intercooler air inlet pipe to the turbo-
charger.

a Refit the bolts for the intercooler inlet air pipe on the
intake distributor.
a Tighten the intercooler air inlet pipe bolts on the in-
take distributor.
a Fit the cooling radiator top hose to the intercooler air
inlet pipe.
a Refit the cooling radiator top hose nut on the inter-
cooler air inlet pipe.
a Tighten the cooling radiator top hose nut on the in-
tercooler air inlet pipe.
a Refit the engine cover.
