Exhaust gas recirculation mounting: Removal - Refitting

II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
1 - Refitting operation for the exhaust gas
recirculation mounting on the gearbox side
a On the workbench, refit:
- the new exhaust gas recirculation mounting seal on
the gearbox side,
- the exhaust gas recirculation mounting on the
gearbox side.
Note:
The cooler must be able to move in relation to its
mounting so that it can be correctly adjusted.
a On the workbench, fit the exhaust gas recirculation
mounting bolts on the gearbox side but do not tight-
en them.
a Fit the exhaust gas recirculation assembly.
a Refit the exhaust gas recirculation assembly bolts.
a Tighten the exhaust gas recirculation assembly
bolts.
a Adjust the exhaust gas intercooler in relation to the
exhaust gas recirculation mounting on the gearbox
side.
WARNING
Ensure that the seals between the cooler and its
two supports are correctly positioned to avoid
any coolant leaks.
a Tighten the exhaust gas recirculation mounting bolts
on the gearbox side.
2 - Refitting operation for the exhaust gas
recirculation mounting on the timing end
a On the workbench, refit:
- the new exhaust gas recirculation mounting seal on
the timing end,
- the exhaust gas recirculation mounting on the tim-
ing end.
Note:
The cooler must be able to move in relation to its
mounting so that it can be correctly adjusted.
a On the workbench, fit the exhaust gas recirculation
mounting bolts on the timing end but do not tighten
them.

a Fit the exhaust gas recirculation assembly.
a Refit the exhaust gas recirculation assembly bolts.
a Tighten the exhaust gas recirculation assembly
bolts.
a Adjust the exhaust gas intercooler in relation to the
exhaust gas recirculation mounting on the timing
end.
WARNING
Ensure that the seals between the cooler and its
two supports are correctly positioned to avoid
any coolant leaks.
a Tighten the exhaust gas recirculation mounting bolts
on the timing end.
III - FINAL OPERATION.
a Refit:
- the exhaust gas recirculation assembly (see 14A,
Antipollution, Exhaust gas recirculation as-
sembly: Removal - Refitting, page 14A-52) ,
- the new exhaust gas recirculation rigid pipe (see
14A, Antipollution, Exhaust gas recirculation
rigid pipe: Removal - Refitting, page 14A-62) ,
- the catalytic converter (see 19B, Exhaust, Cata-
lytic converter: Removal - Refitting, page 19B-
32) ,
- the engine undertray,
- the engine undertray bolts.
a Connect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Refit-
ting) (MR 415, 80A, Battery).
a Refit the engine cover.
