High pressure pipe between rail and injector: Removal - Refitting

a
WARNING
The injector intermediate union (23) must be held
using a spanner while the high pressure pipes
are loosened (24) .
Do not damage the injector return nozzle.
WARNING
T o avoid any corrosion or damage, protect the
areas on which fuel is likely to run.
a Undo the high pressure pipe nuts between the rail
and the injector using the (Mot. 1566).
a Remove:
- the high pressure pipe nuts between the rail and
the injector on the rail side,
- the high pressure pipe nuts between the rail and
the injector on the injector side,
- the high pressure pipes between the rail and the in-
jector.
a Insert the correct blanking plugs.

REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a
WARNING
Do not remove the blanking plugs from each
component until the last moment.
Also, do not remove the components from their
packaging until they are to be fitted to the vehi-
cle.
a Always replace the high pressure pipe between the
rail and the injector concerned.
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
1 - Refitting one, two or three high pressure pipes
a Remove and dispose of the blanking plugs.
a Remove the high pressure pipe between the rail and
the injector from its packaging.
a Manually fit without tightening the high pressure pipe
nuts between the rail and the injector, starting with
the injector rail side.
a Using the (Mot. 1746), tighten to torque:
- the yellow high pressure pipe unions between
the rail and the injector (24 N.m),
- the silver high pressure pipe unions between
the rail and the injector (28 N.m).
2 - Refitting the four high pressure pipes
a Remove and dispose of the blanking plugs.
a Remove the new high pressure pipes between the
rail and the injector from their packaging.
a Manually fit without tightening the high pressure pipe
nuts between the rail and the injector, starting with
the injector rail side.
a Using the (Mot. 1746), tighten to torque:
- the yellow high pressure pipe unions between
the rail and the injector (24 N.m),
- the high pressure pipe unions between the rail
and the silver injector(28 N.m).
a Tighten the injector rail nuts.
a Refit:
- the rail protector,
- the rail protector bolt,
