Connecting hose: Removal - Refitting

a
Note:
The Parts Department supplies the connecting
hose and the intermediate pipe as an integrated
assembly provided with a cutting zone. The
assembly must be cut and adapted before being
fitted on the vehicle.
Cut the new exhaust pipe (see 19B, Exhaust, Ex-
haust: Precautions for the repair, page 19B-18)
between the connecting hose and the intermediate
pipe, in the designated cutting zone (see 19B, Ex-
haust, Exhaust: List and location of compo-
nents, page 19B-1) .
a Remove from the vehicle and discard:
- the exhaust clamp (2) between the intermediate
pipe and the silencer,
- the intermediate pipe.
a Fit:
- a new exhaust clamp between the intermediate
pipe and the silencer,
- the new intermediate pipe, using a component
jack.
a Fit without tightening the exhaust clamp between the
intermediate pipe and the silencer to keep the inter-
mediate pipe on the silencer.
a Refit the connecting hose, fitted with a new seal, on
the catalytic converter.
EXHAUST
a Tighten the connecting hose nuts on the catalytic
converter.
a Fit a new exhaust sleeve between the connecting
hose and the intermediate pipe (see 19B, Exhaust,
Exhaust: Precautions for the repair, page 19B-
18) .
a Adjust the intermediate pipe in relation to the silenc-
er in order to prevent leaks from the connection.
a Torque tighten the exhaust clamp between the in-
termediate pipe and the silencer (21 N.m).
a Tighten the bolt of the connecting hose suspension
stud on the front axle subframe.
a Refit the engine undertray.
a Check for leaks and contact with the underbody (see
19B, Exhaust, Exhaust: Precautions for the re-
pair, page 19B-18) .
Lower the vehicle on the lift.
